Grand Total = 64

That was a surprisingly lower number than I expected, considering the sorry and overcrowded state of my bookshelves.

I feel like, considering the Niffenegger and all the Gabriel Garcia Marquez and for the love of god and all that is holy, Dan Brown (why, BBC? Why?), there are a few modern classics missing: "The Jungle," "The Memory Keeper's Daughter," "The Weight of Water," "Running With Scissors", and anything Toni Morrison (and if we're being honest about the reading habits of 21st-century adults, at least one token Nicholas Sparks). Add to that the stragglers in my personal pantheon of classics: "Little Earthquakes," "The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing," "Every Secret Thing."

But in "everyone should be outraged" land - where's the Vonnegut? The S.E. Hinton? Hell, the Ayn Rand? No "Ender's Game." No "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." No "Neuromancer" or "The Bell Jar" or "Do Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?" What the hell kind of list is this?

On the other hand, there's also a total lack of Twilight, so who am I to complain?
