Pay no attention to the emo behind the curtain.

So I've just remembered that I have new friends. Welcome! There's an introduction meme posted, where I fish for information - head over and add your two cents, if you get the urge. And please, feel no obligation to reply to my rambling post of mourning. You're new. Consider it a get out of jail free card.

I've also realized that I didn't answer my own meme. I blame miniglik.

Name: Courtney.
Age: 27 28 29.
Place you call home: Chicago, IL. Land of Barack, home of the Daeva. One of those things is wonderful. I'll give you three guesses.
Favorite word ever: Could it be glorious? Methinks so.
Food you could eat every day: Avocado and all its byproducts.
One random fact and one pet peeve: I used to be addicted to nasal spray. I can't stand for people to start talking while I'm typing - more than likely, I'm writing something that requires thought, and you've just broken the train.

Fandoms: Supernatural, Stargate Atlantis, Firefly, Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, Angel, House, Fringe, The Office, Pushing Daisies, Torchwood, Everwood, Roswell, Bones, Chloe Sullivan (yes, she counts). Rapidly beginning to love Farscape (why isn't there any more?).
Films/Actors/Directors: Good Will Hunting, ...Say Anything, The Princess Bride, Children of Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Memphis Belle, 2 Days in the Valley, The Usual Suspects, The Prestige, Grosse Pointe Blank, Eternal Sunshine, The Devil's Advocate, Primal Fear, American Psycho. Christian Bale, Edward Norton, Cate Blanchett, Sara Ramirez, Matt Damon, Clive Owen, George Clooney, Morgan Freeman, Kate Winslet, Eva Green, Paul Rudd, Judi Dench, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Hugh Grant, Patrick Wilson, Mos Def. (Why are all my actresses British? Poor Julianne is out there on her own.) Christopher Nolan, Cameron Crowe, Gus van Sant, Paul Thomas Anderson, Taylor Hackford, Ridley Scott, Spike Jonze. Huh. My directors list is decidedly un-PC.
Books/Authors: Troubleshooters, Harry Potter, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Kushiel's Legacy, The Hyperion Cantos, The Tess Monaghan Mysteries, Gaimainverse. Every Secret Thing, Mistral's Daughter, Slaughterhouse-Five, Little Children, The Lovely Bones, The Time Traveler's Wife, Degree of Guilt/Eyes of a Child, Little Earthquakes. Kurt Vonnegut, Laura Lippman, Suzanne Brockmann, Jennifer Weiner, Richard North Patterson, Stephen White, Jennifer Crusie, Meg Cabot, Dan Simmons, J.R. Ward.
Artists/Musicians: Chris Cornell (in all his incarnations), Josh Groban, Patty Griffin, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, Dishwalla, Rob Thomas, matchbox twenty, Alana Davis, Fiona Apple, Ray LaMontagne, Joshua Radin, Marc Broussard, Prince, Maroon 5, Gavin DeGraw, Imogen Heap, Maxwell, Adam Pascal, Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles, Robin Thicke, Ari Hest.

Fic reader, writer, both, or neither? Both. Quite happily.
What's your most unique fandom stance (i.e. the beloved character you hate, the unpopular show you adore, the ship no one else gets, etc.)? I didn't like Veronica Mars. At all. One of these days, I'll try it again.
If you had to pick one song, one show, one film, one character and one pairing to watch, listen to, ship, or read/write for the rest of your days, what (and who) would they be? Yeah, I didn't realize that this question completely sucks until now. Uh... Jeff Buckley's Lover, You Should've Come Over, Everwood (wow, I surprised myself on that one), Good Will Hunting, Ronon Dex, and Oliver/Chloe.
You have the power to bring one person (real or fictional) back from the dead. Who is it? My Poppa. Who's surprised?
Best fandom of yours that I'm not watching (or reading)? Everwood. I have no Everwood friends. This saddens me.
What's your ultimate crack crossover pairing? It changes daily. Right now, it's probably Sam/Chloe/Peter (SPN/Smallville/Heroes). Yeah. Somebody get right on that for me. Chop chop. I lied.* From now until the end of time (or at least until the end of this week), it shall be Simon Tam/Captain Jack (Firefly/Torchwood). Does any of this exist? And if the answer is no, why the hell not?
Joss, Kring, or Kripke? (This is my journal, therefore J.J. Abrams does not apply.) Though The Krip has a special place in my heart, and I think Kring is brilliant, Joss is God.
The Apocalypse Smackdown: Sylar vs. the YED. Who wins? Sylar. The man eats brains.

*Do not take that strikethrough as dismissal of my craving. Somebody write me some Sam/Chloe/Peter, dammit.

My birthday rapidly approaches. Rapidly. Too rapidly for my taste, actually. But, in true silver lining fashion, I shall use this opportunity to extort fic from all you lovely folks. I'm really, really craving Dean/Chloe (SPN/Smallville), post-finale BSG, SPN and Heroes gen, anything WIaWSNB wishverse, and Simon/Jack (Firefly/Torchwood - the first person who writes me some gets a cookie). And iamentheos, don't think I've forgotten that you owe me Jason/Emma. I'm watching you. *watches you*

And just to prove that sometimes, all you need is a little Q:

freneticfloetry: i had a dream last night that i was casting sam and dean
freneticfloetry: and they were pigeons
freneticfloetry: i kid you not.
freneticfloetry: pigeons.
queenie__b: how very bert from sesame street
freneticfloetry: i picked a freakishly huge and slightly skittish one for sam - he cooed a lot.
queenie__b: because Sam is a cooer
freneticfloetry: and i picked one with shimmery green head and tail feathers who was overly friendly to the point of inappropriatness for dean.
freneticfloetry: he kept nudging under my arm. i think he was trying to cop a feel.
queenie__b: ROFLMAO

See how she just rides the insanity?
